Is a Poinsettia Toxic

Myths and rumours about the toxic Poinsettia plant is the most asked question in flower shops at this time of year. When the Poinsettia takes centre stage this season you can rest assured that it is NOT toxic towards pets or kids. The genus (Eupphorbia) to which the Poinsettia belongs does contain some highly toxic plant, the popular Poinsettia itself is NOT toxic. Some sources attribute the rumour
about the dangers of Poinsettia leaves to a case of poisoning in 1919 that led to the death of a 2 year old child. At the time, the cause of the poisoning was incorrectly determined to be a Poinsettia leave.

A wonderful time of year

It's a wonderful time of year!

Winter holidays are on there way. All the family fun, and of course, a visit from Santa. The mountains are looking so beautiful with there dusting of snow. Our lights are up at our homes, our shopping is still in the thought process. Well mine is any ways. Yes December is here.

Now it's time to add the fresh flowers and all the Holiday fun to our homes. Here are a few great inexpensive ways to add some winter to the in side of your home... fresh cut Pine, Fir and Cedar placed around your home will bring the smell of the Holidays in side. Placed around your home in small vases will create a lovely winter look. You can also add some berries and flowers for a pretty Holiday feel.
